Professional Rugby player-Stade Français

I am currently in my 4th year at SMS and playing first grade for Stade Français (Top 14). Playing Rugby at such a high level is obviously extremely physically demanding and therefore very tiring. One must be very well organized and a good planner in order to juggle sport and school commitments. Both SMS and my Rugby club support and help me to succeed in my sporting and academic endeavors. My programme at SMS is going well and I’m lucky to be able to work towards my goals which are : taking my professional rugby career as far as possible and then working in sports business thanks to my managerial skills.

African champion

My name is Kate Foo Kune, I am 22 years old, and I am a Mauritian elite Badminton player. I am the current women’s singles national champion. In 2014 I was crowned African champion and in 2015 I won the Island Games (Jeux des iles). As an athlete, my goal is to constantly improve and reach the highest possible international level. However, while pursuing my sports related goals I do not wish to neglect my studies. I chose SMS because they help me to juggle my sport and school commitments.

French 400m champion

This year has been a year of change for me, especially with regards to changes in my training methods. I needed to integrate training and academic studies and apparently it worked well as I retained my 400m French champion title and participated in the 2015 international championships. Now I am focused on participating in the Rio Olympic Games in 2016. It’s not easy combining study and athletics, we have to train a lot and sometimes we even train twice a day. Fortunately I have a good team helping me at SMS. Zélie Amard looks after all my administrative needs and Nicole Escourrou, the director of pedagogy helps me a lot too.
